Overnight at Lakeland Provincial Park

Glow Paddle
It’s the third annual Glow Paddle down the Clearwater River! Boat decorating will begin at 6:00 pm at the Raphael Cree Park and Boat Launch followed by a leisurely paddle down the Clearwater River arriving at the Snye.
Vehicle shuttle arrangements to be determined based on participants. Please indicate on your sign up if you are available to help shuttle before or after the event. All are welcome to stay for an end of season campfire after the paddle with prizes for the best decorated boats.
The membership fee is waived for new members at this event, however, participants must sign the club waiver. Limited seats are available in club canoes and/or kayaks. We hope you can join us to light up the Clearwater River in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo!
Athabasca River Day Trip
Join us for a day on the mighty Athabasca from the Snye to the Bridge to Nowhere. Plan for 6-12 hours depending on water levels. Find the map and more information on the trip here. Limited seats are available in club canoes and/or kayaks. Paddlers should be competent in moving water skills including self rescue.
Overnight at Crow Lake
Paddle beautiful Crow Lake with opportunities to spot wildlife and explore the forested shoreline. Join us for the whole weekend or drop in for a day. First come, first serve front country camping is available at Crow Lake Campground. Limited seats are available in club canoes and/or kayaks for use over the weekend. Find tips on what to bring here.
Evening Paddle at Gregoire Lake
Soak in the late August sun at Gregoire Lake for a relaxed evening paddle. Limited seats available in club canoes and/or kayaks. Beginners welcome.
Evening Paddle at Poplar Creek Reservoir
This week’s evening paddle takes us on a half hour drive north to the Poplar Creek Reservoir. Limited seats available in club canoes and/or kayaks. Beginners welcome.

Mother’s Day Clearwater Paddle
Join us for a morning paddle on the Clearwater River from Draper to the Snye with a sandbar stop along the way for coffee and treats. Bring your favourite camp mug and meet us at the Snye! Sign up below to let us know you’re coming. Limited seats in club canoes and kayaks are available.

Glow Paddle
Join us for our second annual Glow Paddle down the Clearwater River! Boat decorating will begin at 6:00 pm at the Raphael Cree Park and Boat Launch (BYOGS [bring your own glow sticks]) after which we will enjoy a leisurely paddle down the Clearwater River arriving at the Snye. After the paddle vehicle shuttles will be available back to the boat launch for an end of season campfire and celebration.
Prizes will be available for the best decorated boats. The membership fee is waived for new members at this event, however, participants must sign the club waiver. We hope you can join us to light up the Clearwater River in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo!
McClelland Lake Overnight with the Alberta Wilderness Association
Join us for an overnight trip with friends from the Alberta Wilderness Association to scenic McClelland Lake with opportunities to spot wildlife, migratory birds, and incredible patterned fen. Coffee Outside on the Clearwater River
Enjoy coffee and pastries on a sandbar on the Clearwater River and make it to work on time for 9:00am. Paddle is from Draper Rd. to Tom Weber Boat Launch. Bring your camp coffee gear and a mug.

Join us for an early morning paddle around the islands on the Clearwater River. Participants should be confident on moving water and be able to paddle up stream. Bring your own coffee/tea and maybe a favourite donut or two to share?

Clearwater Shuttle and History Exploration
Clearwater Shuttle from Raphael Cree Boat Launch to the Snye. If conditions permit we will make a stop to explore the ruins at the Clearwater River Plant and learn about some Fort McMurray and oil sands history. Participants should be comfortable paddling moving water and be able to eddy out and paddle up stream if necessary.
